Ice Plant

Inspired by the historical period of the early 20th century, our idea is to reintroduce our guests to a time where the experience of having a cocktail and a bite to eat was both healthful and enjoyable. Focused on the art and craft of mixing exceptional local ingredients in precise measurements to create perfect and unique flavor profiles. Fresh, house-pressed juices and a wide assortment of bitters and specially developed syrups, result in stunning cocktails. Attention is paid to the smallest of details with three different kinds of ice, including a nod to the building's original use as an Ice Plant, with a 300lb block of ice and custom cubes. The farm to table restaurant and bar is open for lunch and dinner. Serving grass-fed beef and burgers, local seafood, with vegetarian options and daily specials. The original "Ice Plant" building dates back to 1927, an experience like no other in Florida. It is complete with the original bridge crane on rails overhead the bar. The crane was used to pick up huge blocks of ice to then be broken down and sold to local customers and the shrimp boats. We wanted to restore the feeling of walking into an old factory. Come relax and enjoy a step back in time.

Very cool and hip place. Drinks were very good. The food was good. Feel as though the menu is pretty limited and wish they had more vegetarian options. Staff was very friendly. Loved the app they use to show you your wait time and spot on their list. Though it ended up being a little buggy when it came to letting us know that it was actually time. Only other issue we had was the restrooms... 1. Would of expected a place like that to have more than one stall in the men's bathroom. 2. My wife said 3 of the 4 stalls in the woman's had out of order signs on them. But aside from that everything was great. Would recommend and would go back.

Came into town to see the lights. Stopped in for a few cocktails while the sun went down. Very cool bar in an old historic building. Staff was friendly and bartenders were knowledgeable. Gave a great dinner suggestion for later. Drinks were very good.

Neat atmosphere. The appetizers were really good. Some of our party really liked their main course while the others thought it was good, but not great. The desserts we ordered, banana pudding and apple cobbler, were not good. The service was excellent and the restaurant appeared clean. The place was packed. Seating is somewhat limited. Their wait list system was nice though as you knew exactly how long you had been waiting and what place you were in line.Parking is free here.

Ate brunch here on a Saturday morning and was treated to excellent service and the best breakfast in the area. On top of the food, visiting an historic part of the city and learning of its transformation made our visit even better. Great place for drinks as well, with a full service bar that uses spirits from the St Augustine distillery right next door. Absolutely would go again.

Really attentive service and good foods here. Live wild and hit the distillery and roll into the restaurant for a double dose of fun. Hey it's always a Saturday night here

Such an authentic place with most creative cocktails. Accompanied by high quality food. Watching that unique ice molding, making process is really fascinating at the bar. Obviously doesn't come cheap, but it's kind of expected and worth the whole experience in the end.

We went for dinner but were to early so we had drinks and soft pretzel bread til dinner was served. The skillet fried chicken was heat and Stephanie was a wonderful server. One of St. Augustine’s buried treasures. Thanks.

So good and such a gorgeous old building. Did is all farm to table and amazing! I had the fish tacos and they were made with swordfish. They were incredible. The homemade corn tortillas made them especially amazing. Highly recommend checking this place out.

What a cool, historic building with a story that is as unique and awesome as the food. Great ambiance and service and did I mention the food was amazing too? We had the Ricotta Gnocchi, the Shrimp & Okra Puffs, and the Pretzel appetizers followed by the Wagyu Hamburger with Bacon. Craft sodas were delish. Not a drinker, but they had a ton of various mixed drinks. Highly recommend!

Cocktails and service were great, but I ordered the short rib. It looked fantastic until I dove in. Completely dry- as if someone had stuck a syringe into the meat over and over again to draw out any of the succulent juices a short rib should have. Disappointing considering the price tag, but would give it another go.

If you're visiting St. Augustine, eating at the Ice Plant is a must! We had a burger and a Mahi dish. Both, best we've ever had! The burger was excellent! Everything made fresh, down even to the ketchup.

Man what a place, great whiskey tour, super nice bar to visit, great gift shop, just all around cool place. Our tour guide was good. I had a unique drink, I think called a Bert Reynolds while we waited for our tour.

Disappointing and Expensive. There is a distillery in the same building. The restaurant is dangerous because the floors are slippery from the elevator to the dining area. I told a employee about the floor and he said that he clips and falls about once a month. The food was undistinguished. Previous visitors rave about their mesks, but I fail to understand why. To be fair, the shrimp chowder was very good. Everything else was overpriced. My advice is to visit the distillery and go somewhere else for a meal. In addition, this was a rather dirty restaurant.

My wife and I had about an hour to kill while waiting on a dinner reservation at another location in downtown St. Augustine. We decided to stop by the Ice Plant to have a drink, we were served right away and my Old Fashioned was crafted perfectly! I highly recommend visiting the Ice Plant!

Excellent decor, ambiance, food and drink are unique and fab. Def. Black spaghetti seafood dish is hands down one of the best dishes I've had in a long time. Make sure you get the fresh bread loaf to compliment to soak up the tasty broth. Our server Abby was attentive, helpful, personable and nice. We had an excellent time.

We only had time to stay for one drink, but I have a feeling I could spend the better part of a day here. Extensive selection, knowledgeable bartenders, and a great menu of classics, specialty drinks, and bartenders willing to do a little experimentation for you. On top of that, the clearest ice balls you've ever seen.

My boyfriend took me here for a date night and it did not disappoint! The menu had so many delicious drinks on it that I had no idea which to choose, and I am normally extremely picky. I ordered 3 different drinks and each one was better than the last. Our bartender was super friendly and fast, and the vibe of the bar was really cool and inviting. I will definitely be back!

We had the best time here. We only went for happy hour so I can’t comment on the food (although the menu looks fab). Our bartender (young guy who does cocktail competitions), was awesome. He explained about how they make their own syrups and cola and the spices they use, etc. He let us try a taste of some of the cola (amazing). We got margaritas and they were so beyond fresh! The place has such a great ambiance, too. I would love to try food next time I’m in town. Just overall a great experience. I highly suggest checking it out. The prices are for sure on the high side but you’re paying for quality ingredients.

Love the idea behind it... An old ice plant converted to a distillery and restaurant, the waiter knew his drinks (which is a must especially when attached to a distillery) and was able to make recommendations based on my pallet and what I enjoy. Which tuned out to be their old fashioned. I had the fresh fish tacos, catch of the day was swordfish, and when they say it's all farm to table fresh it's no joke. The freshness shone through in a way that enhanced the entire experience.

Love this place! The atmosphere is crazy amazing. Service was okay. However, I did talk to other staff members than my server. They were awesome! The friendly, patient, and easy to talk with type of folks just what you when you are drinking or need help ordering food. Don't leave saint Augustine without checking out the ice plant bar skip the other places🤣

Visited this place while on a trip to St. Augustine and I have no complaints. Quick service and amazing drink combinations. I personally didn’t have any food but the dishes looked pretty delicious. I love the fact that they make their own ice too :)

Naming this place a "Bar" does not do it justice. The food, while being a limited menu, is fantastic. I did not even have an alcoholic beverage during my visit and would return specifically for the entrees and small plates. Their craft made sodas and "mocktails" were good enough to stand on their own. The only negative I would give them is service was quite slow, though there was a large bar crowd/party during our visit. The servers were especially plesant and accommodating however.

Nice eclectic venue. Menu offers a fresh take on some classic dishes. Really like the atmosphere. The drinks are good, they put a lot of emphasis on their drinks...they promote it as the work of an artist. It's a drink, an enjoyable drink, but nothing to get excited about. If you order the Moscow Mule be prepared to put a deposit on your cup (it's a copper mug) maybe $20, the drink itself $10. So $60 for a couple is kind of shocking when you first see the tab. The price of the mug is refunded when returned. Overall it's fun but pretentious.

That ricotta gnocchi is the thing keeping me from ending it all. I will also recommend to you the little red Corvette. My drink was a bit more full, but I took a sip before I took a pic.

Started with the tour. That was my first tour of a distillery. Our guide was very informative. Knowledgeable with where the building came from. To top it all off very impressed with their dedication to fine bourbon.

My husband and I have visited here and there over the years and wanted to take my parents while they were visiting. The food was top notch. They raved about their meals and the hamburgers were divine - I'd go as far as to say the best I've ever tasted. They don't have my drink on the menu anymore (Lolita) but I had a screenshot saved of how they used to make it and they made it for me. Our waiter was attentive and very accommodating. Can't wait for our next visit.
